Always an easy stop to pick up a great sandwich. Good selection, and I've actually tried 3/4 of the menu. I honestly liked them all.

This place has the best sandwich in San Jose, hands down. I’ve been coming here at least once a week for about 5 years and it’s always great. Try the pastrami with everything!

Love their sandwiches. It’s fresh and delicious. Reminds me of an mom and pops deli shop. The only downside is it’s cash only which is not an issue, they have a ATM inside for your convenience. Do expect some lines but they are quick on their feet to get you that delicious sandwich. They have an indoor and outdoor seating. Overall great sandwich spot hands down.

After working most of high school and sometime in college at the famous Genova Delicatessen, I learned a thing or two about good sandwich making. Freshly delivered that and was very good. All of the ingredients appeared fresh and sourdough roll was warm appearing to be fresh baked. The service was excellent. The location was quite crowded, yet I was served in about two minutes. Considering the quality of the food, quite impressive. Sandwich, chips and soda for just over $14. Given the food, I was very pleased with the value.

Cash only. The bread is fantastic. Quick service for lunch. If you are craving a Sammie you cannot go wrong here.

Popped in here to grab sandwiches before my flight and even though they ran out of what I wanted the sandwich I ended up getting turned out to be great. Let me tell you...their bread is out of this world. Can't wait to go back and try another sandwich !

Located in downtown San Jose, and always bustling, the fast service gets you seated for lunch or out the door in no time. The signature attraction is the freshly baked sourdough rolls. You pick your sandwich fillings (they offer high quality lunch meats and more) and they are lovingly encased in fresh, warm bread, which not only excites your taste buds, but appeals to your ol-factory! Sandwiches are generously stuffed and come with deli style dill pickle wedge. Warning: cash only, and the place is only open for lunch Monday through Friday 'til 2:30 pm.

This is one of the best sandwich shops in downtown San Jose! The bread, meat and fixings were fresh and sandwiches were delicious. If you are looking for a good sandwich, this is the place to go.

Great sourdough with Boar's Head meats. Local small shop. Friendly owner and staff. Cash only. They have tables with tent outside if you want to eat there. Straight forward and quick service. Either order in person or call ahead. They set up a one-way flow so you enter from the side and exit another way. Everyone was wearing masks and gloves.

Eatery is setback, which makes it easy to miss, but so worth it when you find it. Check for limited hours of operation. The eatery only has 15 sandwiches, some bagged chips, beverages and 1 chef's salad. That's it. This place is really all about their delicous sandwiches.The sandwiches are made with soft, warm, heavenly, sourdough bread that's made daily on the premises. They have the standard lettuce, tomato, etc., fillings and the meats are from Boar's Head. Sandwiches are a good size and value for the $. My daughter always drops by to purchase a sandwich to take on her flights to Houston. Worth stopping by.

I have been eyeing this place for a while and I finally came. They're only open for lunch and their cash only so beware. I came and got their garlic turkey to go. They tasted really really good and filled me up. Unfortunately the bag did wrap a little bit at the bottom so it got messy. I do think this place is pretty good. They made the food fast and the workers were nice. It's located inside of an office building across from St. James Park if you can't find it. I know I'll be back again!

Super tasty sandwiches on fresh, warm bread. Friendly and amazingly fast service. The number 4 + avocado is my go-to. Cash only, ATM on site.

My sandwich was great. The bread was warm and soft slight crisp, fresh lettuce thinly sliced tomatoes, a little bit of red onion and pepper salami and turkey are my favorite. The sandwich bite is so satisfying and everything stays together so well and just find myself keep going back for a bite after bite. These guys are great sandwich makers. They are only open for lunchtime Monday through Friday, so once you get addicted you'll find yourself running to get there before they close.

I don’t know how I slept on this place as long as I did. $10 for a sandwich. Tasty, fresh bread. Boar’s Head meat. Friendly staff. Oh and CRAZY fast service. Much love for this place!

What can be said about FBE that already hasn't been said. Great Food, Excellent service, and a real nice atmosphere.

I always come here for the prosciutto and provolone sandwich. The bread is what they're known for here and for good reason. Crispy shell and fluffy insides. They get their meat (and cheese?) from Boar's Head and it goes well with the bread. The few downsides for this place is that it only opens during lunch time on the weekdays and they only do cash. Other than that, the food is great and there's lots of seating + parking nearby.

The fresh ingredients keeps me going back.

Bread was soggy and Rueben not hot as I ordered. However, service was fast.

Tried the Classic, Roast Beef, Turkey, Country Ham and Swiss Cheese on Sourdough. Bread was warm from the oven and I could only eat 1/2 of the sandwich it was so large. Pretty good value at $9, everything was lovely and fresh.

I love this place,and it is a must every time I'm in there area. I always get the turkey and cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, extra peppercinis, on their incredibly delicious sourdough bread. I wish they were open longer thoughout the day.

The best sandwiches in Downtown SJ by far. The bread is always fresh and well as the meat. It is also cheap. It gets busy but lines go quick. Cash only, but there is an ATM in case you need it.I love their German bologna! It is one of the best! There are several different types of drinks and chips. Finding parking is sometimes difficult. Anyway, it is a great place to grab a quick bite!

Warm bread, fresh from the oven topped with a generous portion of your favorite meat and sandwich fixings delivered fast bt friendly staff. What more could you ask for? Generous sized sandwiches are big enough to share making it a great value. I always ask for it half wrapped, so I have lunch for two days.

A must for every gluten-loving person in the San Jose area. Nearly everyone from my office eats here once a week. Great location across from a park, nestled away from the commotion of downtown. Huge focus on quality ingredients, the highlight of those being the BREAD. Every time I have been has been exceptional- consistent quality, friendly staff, reasonable prices and extremely fast service. This place checks all of the boxes. Consistently awesome! I had the Chipotle Chicken sandwich and it was even better than I imagined. I recommend Freshly Baked Eatery to everyone.
